Festival Plaza tram stop to Adelaide Oval: the 500m connection
Festival Plaza is the closest published tram stop, with one last pedestrian leg before the stadium.
The short version
Three planning decisions
- The current published walk from Festival Plaza is approximately 500m.
- The East End and Glenelg plans depend more heavily on tram service timing.
- RWC special services and ticket inclusion are not confirmed.
When the tram connection is useful
Festival Plaza works as the final tram stop for visitors approaching from the East End or, with a much longer total journey, Glenelg. The venue and Adelaide Metro publish a walk of about 500 metres from the stop to Adelaide Oval.
For a midday match, the current route framework is straightforward. For an evening fixture, the decision changes: your dated return service and the capacity of the event network matter more than the outbound trip.
Avoid the two common assumptions
Both points can be solved close to the event with a journey-planner check and the official ticket-holder information. Until then, choose accommodation with a fallback that still works if the event timetable changes.
- Do not assume the tram is at the gate; the final approach is on foot.
- Do not assume the tournament ticket includes the fare.
